Women in STEM Teen Conference

ASMS 2

The 2017 Women in STEM Teen Conference recently held at the Alabama School of Math and Science was a huge success!

More than 200 female students from all over Alabama attended the conference and participated in a variety of hands-on STEM activities including Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Robotics, and much more.

Our team, which included Linda Bethea-Taylor, Krystie Dunn, Valerie Castrillion and Elaine Grinstein, were on hand to tell them about the different STEM subjects used in the aviation industry and the many careers available to them. As an added fun activity, our volunteers helped 50 girls make wire bracelets that included wire striping and quick disconnects with crimping tools (supplies and tools used in aircraft manufacturing).
