American Airlines is Airbus’ largest customer for the A321 aircraft, and now the second Airbus built in Mobile is the first U.S. manufactured plane in the American Airlines fleet.
AL.com reports:
“They are our biggest customer,” said Daryl Taylor, the vice president and general manager of the Airbus U.S. manufacturing facility in Mobile. “They own the biggest fleet of A321’s. They put the trust in us and are willing to take an aircraft so early in the production cycle from Mobile and the comments they’ve given us … praising the quality of craftsmanship of our team. To get that from our biggest customer is resounding.”
