On Saturday, September 24, nearly 1,200 family and friends of Mobile FAL employees came together for Family Day 2016.
Guests toured the Transshipment Hangar and the Final Assembly Line Hangar, and viewed an assortment of aerobatic and vintage aircraft in a static display near the Delivery Center. FAL team members had the chance to show their guests where they and their colleagues have assembled ten A321 aircraft.
Human Resources Director Jennifer Ogle said it was important to invite family members to see where their loved ones build world-class planes.
“The families of our team members made extraordinary sacrifices to get us to this point. Some team members were in France, Germany, the U.K., even as far away as China for months at a time, away from their families, getting the training necessary to allow the Mobile FAL to assemble the A321. We’re grateful for those sacrifices, and this was one way we could demonstrate that, and allow them the opportunity to take a leisurely tour of the FAL and to learn more about what their loved ones do here,” Ms. Ogle said.
A static display of aerobatic and vintage aircraft, including planes from the 1940s through today were particularly popular with the younger guests. Plane owners were on hand to answer questions about their prized possessions.
